Sweet Happenstance

Be picky

When you see fruits

like mangoes or avocados,

do you just assume that they are sweet?

you need to hold it in you palms,

press it to see if it’s soft,

smell it to know the freshness.

You simply see if it’s yellow,

fill your shopping basket with them

and bring them home

only to realize they were sour.

Be picky when it comes to fruits

and the people you let in your life.
